Without colours life would be boring
Phil Splash, born Philipp Mulfinger, is “The Million Painter”. The communication design graduate (Institute of Design Düsseldorf) started in 2010 to portray fellow passengers in the Munich metro on his way to work. To date he has made more than 80,000 speed paintings and has since performed regularly as a live artist, speed painter, caricaturist and speed sketcher at trade fairs, team events, evening events and marketing events.
His name comes from his technique of flinging paint onto the canvas. The title Million Painter was given to him by the Munich press. His colourful suits are his trademark, Basquiat, Kandinsky, Dalí and Mondrian his role models. Grew up in Arnstein near Würzburg, lived in Munich for a long time, today on the move between Franconia, Munich and the world.

Millionpainter, the agency behind him
Beside the canvas there is the designer: with his agency Millionpainter, Phil creates corporate designs, packaging, websites, social media and virtual brand worlds. From the logo to the VR headset, for companies that want to stand out.
To the agency siteRecent: Portraits against hate
In 2024 Phil painted portraits of citizens in Würzburg who wanted to take a stand against extremism, painted on Article 1 of the German constitution. More than a hundred people sent their photos, the exhibition ran in the foyer of Würzburg town hall. “Every attempt to make the world better counts.”
